3.0 Champion ResponsibilitiesÂ
Champions must remain eligible, maintain registration and medical clearance, fulfil agreed title defences and return the belt when required.Â
Belt holder must bring the Belt being contested to the bout. Â
If a boxer defends the Belt Title on three consecutive occasions, they will own the belt and a new belt be competed for.Â
Belts shall be looked after by the Belt holder and their club. The cost of a lost or damaged belt that needs to be replaced will be borne by the club of approximately £200 (to cover cost of belt and administration costs). Â
Belt holders that change club affiliation MUST inform the belt coordinator and the new club must acknowledge receipt of the challenge belt via email to the belt coordinator.Â
Once a boxer wins a Belt at another weight division the current weight division belt MUST be relinquished. A boxer cannot hold more than one regional belt title at a time.Â
If a Youth boxer holds a Belt, they must relinquish it when becoming a Senior boxer.Â
The belt holder can only defend their belt at an ‘Away’ club show. Â
The Belt holder must actively defend their Belt on a regular basis (at least every 2 months). Failure to defend a Belt for over three months without reasonable justification may result in the Belt being declared vacant. Â
4.0 Defences and ChallengesÂ
4.1 DefencesÂ
Champions may be required to defend their belts against eligible challengers. Challenger selection may consider results, record, activity, weight category and previous title performances. Â
A title bout must be officially approved and a permit issued, with both boxers completing all required medical and administrative procedures.Â
Title bouts will be allocated by the committee to a mutually agreed convenient neutral event. Belt holders and challengers will not be able to defend or compete for their titles on their own club shows.Â
Defences and challenges must be nominated to the Regional Belt Committee via the nomination form Appendix C.Â
4.2 Scoring and ResultsÂ
Bouts will be scored according to the applicable boxing rules. Official results may include decisions, knockout, technical knockout, technical decision, draw or disqualification.Â
4.3 Applications to compete Â
All participants must send Nomination Forms into the belt coordinator via email.Â
Nomination forms will be reviewed by the regional belt committee, and any approved matches will be scheduled.Â
Where more than one nomination is received for the same regional belt title, those boxers not selected to compete will be placed on a waiting list. The waiting list will be run on a first-come first-served basis and, where selected boxers cannot compete on the scheduled date, the next boxer on the list will be offered the slot.Â
Boxers unable to compete on the scheduled date, will be placed at the bottom on the waiting list.Â
4.4. Withdrawals and vacant titlesÂ
Anyone Withdrawing a Boxer Must give a minimum of 14 Days' Notice to the belt coordinator via email, to enable all parties to be contacted. Failure to do so will result in a £50 sanction being imposed by Home Counties upon the withdrawing boxer’s club. Â
If a champion withdraws either without contacting the belt coordinator or Home Counties Regional Belt Committee, the Title shall be deemed vacant. The challenger will then be awarded a bout in 14-28 days for the vacant title against a second challenger of Home Counties Regional Belt Committee choosing. Â
If a champion withdraws having contacted the belt coordinator with a valid reason the bout will be re-scheduled for 14-28 days. If the champion is unable to re-schedule in that time frame the Belt will be deemed vacated. Â
Â
Â
4.5 Show allocation Â
Home Counties Title Belt bouts are designed to take place on Club shows, Regional Belt Tournaments or at Regional Championship Finals. Â
Upon acceptance of a belt title nomination, the Home Counties will schedule this bout to be completed on a suitable event. Consideration will be given to location of both clubs and boxer availability.Â
A Regional Title Belt Permit will be issued for all Regional Belt bouts by the Regional Secretary, details will be sent to Host Club in which the bout is to be held, challenger’s club and belt holders Club.Â
No Bout can take place Without a Valid Permit, this Must be shown to the Supervisor.Â
No Expenses will be paid to Clubs taking part in Title Belt Bouts.Â
